The event drew 40 clients to the UIMC from EMEA, representing 14 different nationalities, with reprsentatives from accounts including RDW, CAK, Mobilink, Iberia, La Caixa, PKN, Nationwide, Investec, TietoEnator and Chelsea Building Society to name just a few.
Throughout the 2 days Unisys experts, client speakers, industry experts and Unisys key partners such as Microsoft, EMC, Scalent and Enigmatec addressed; the issues facing the audience-business agility in a highly competitive world; driving down IT costs while maintaining service levels and managing the transition to virtual environments. Therefore making the IT infrastructure totally responsive to the business needs of organisations
The event demonstrated how Unisys Real Time Infrastructure builds a foundation for agility and Virtualisation as a step towards laying the foundation for an RTI, while saving IT spends provided a structured and integrated approach is used. Building a sense and respond infrastructure is essential to an ever changing business environment.
Milind Govekar, Gartner research VP, gave the roadmap of setting the foundations and laying the groundwork for RTI despite the inhibitors, while outlining the business action plan to meet these goals. Simon Shiach, Marketing VP for Unisys marketing programmes, presented the results of the Unisys intiated data centre effectiveness survey. For Microsoft, Clive Watson, the Virtualisation Architect, took the participants through the pain points facing IT managers and looked at Virtualisation across the orgainstaion and where the market stands today. Though the Virtualisation market is evolving rapidly, only 17% of the worldwide server market will be vitualised by 2010. A promising future ahead for Real Time Infrastructure.
