Centre News Unisys Partner & Channels Seminar 3-5 Sept 2008 – a UIMC Love Story

Saint-Paul-de-Vence, 3-5, September, 2008

Love was most definitely 'in the air' at the 2nd Annual Unisys partner and channels seminar held at Saint-Paul-de-Vence in early September. Exploring 'The value of partnerships in our business', the 2.5 day event took on a distinctly Shakespearian theme as 'Romeo' Unisys and a host of 'Juliet' business partner organisations engaged in lively debate exploring the benefits and rewards that can be gained from working in close partnership with each other.

The ‘Romeo and Juliet’ theme flourished in the tranquil, relaxed atmosphere of the Unisys International Management Centre (UIMC), with a mix of tailored presentations, workshop and networking sessions led in turn by Unisys executives & subject matter experts and key representatives from partner organisations.

Building on a successful event in 2007, this year's seminar attracted a full house at UIMC with 29 client delegates attending from Unisys business partner organisations including Alcatel-Lucent, Apple, BT, Dell, EMC, Lenovo, Microsoft, NEC, NetApp and Nokia.

Unisys executive sponsor Tony Doye, Sr. V.P & President Global Outsourcing & Infrastructure Services, was very pleased to attend this meeting which he qualified as a ‘well organized conference with great client attendance, all top players'.

Graham Long, Unisys Director Service Channels and organiser of the event, commented “our partners take great value from this event, not only do they have the opportunity to understand the value that Unisys brings to them and their clients, but they also have the unique advantage of understanding what their peers are bringing to the market and how to leverage this information to grow their business with Unisys” .

After a showcase of Unisys portfolio solutions from the ‘Romeo’ team, the business partner ‘Juliets’ presented on the importance of working together within a cohesive partner community and understanding each other. A hectic schedule of ‘executive speed dating’ on the final day brought the event to a close.

Drawing a Shakespearian conclusion - to be or not to be? Romeo and Juliet had no hesitation in agreeing on a date for next year. Let’s meet again in the romantic setting of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. UIMC has blocked 2-4 September 2009 in its calendar.

Thank you to Graham Long, Tony Locke and Véronique Leroy, for organising this successful event and thank you all those who actively participated in the seminar and contributed to its success.

Positive comments from business partners attest to the success of this event. To quote just a few:
