Location

The Centre basks in the sunshine of the French Riviera and is situated on a secluded hillside above the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence in the wooded, olive-groved foothills of the Alpes Maritimes, about 20 kms from Nice and 30 kms from Cannes.

Saint Paul de Vence itself, a fortified medieval village dating back to the eleventh century, provides a stimulating setting for the Centre. It is the home of the Foundation Maeght, a world-famous museum of modern art. Works of artists from all over the world are displayed in the many galleries elsewhere in the village.

The center maintains excellent relationships with local artists from Nice and its surrounding area. A range of other cultural events involving music and theatre are sponsored as well.

The Côte d'Azur enjoys a warm summer climate and a normally mild winter. Golf, sailing and a wide variety of other sporting activities are within easy reach. For those whose pleasures lie more in looking than doing, local flower markets, the perfumeries of Grasse, the museums, the boutiques and festival of Cannes, and the Mediterranean harbours and beaches are close to hand.
