On April 11-13, almost 40 client guests representing 19 accounts and a large pipeline of opportunities attended the “Enterprise Content Management – Best Practices: A Global Thought Leadership Summit” seminar at the UIMC in St. Paul de Vence, France.  Participating organizations included Fluxys, EuroControl and OPCW (Belgium), Bradesco Seguros and Caixa Bank (Brazil), OTP Bank (Hungary), CMP and Sociedad Hipotecaria Federal (Mexico), ABP Investments, Athlon Car Leasing, EuroJust, ING, Provincie Zuid and SNS Reaal and Zorgverzekeraar DSW (Netherlands), National Statistics Office (Philippines), Bank BPH (Poland), Leeds and Holbeck Building Society (UK). The seminar was hosted by our Integrated Document Management (IDM) Program team, and moderated by Paul Barber, who indicated, “The seminar was very positive. Our clients have significant needs and requirements in this space which we can and do fulfill, and all participants agreed this is one of their key investment areas.”

 

Enterprise Content Management (ECM) includes document imaging, workflow, business process management, document management, e-mail management, forms management, and compliance-driven records management solutions.  Unisys is a leading integrator of large-scale ECM-based vertical solutions such as claims processing and lending for the financial services industry and tax processing for the public sector industry.

 

Our objective was to assist Unisys clients maximize their ECM/IDM solution benefits, such as enhanced customer service, reduced operational costs, increased productivity, and improved regulatory compliance. The presentations and sessions combined best practices, case studies from Unisys clients and industry viewpoints from leading independent industry analysts.

 

 The keynote speaker was Mr. Randy Kahn, attorney, author, consultant and noted expert on enterprise compliance and regulatory issues.  In “Keys To Information Management Compliance” he noted that enterprise information management has entered into an era driven by the need to control content defined by tough new laws and regulations.  His presentation incorporated developments in law, business practice and information technology to provide practical insight and real world examples that the audience could use to evaluate, design and improve current information management practices and policies.

 

Other speakers included Mr. Atle Skjekkeland, Managing Director, AIIM Europe, who presented “ECM: Why Does It Matter?”; case studies from Mr. René Groot, ICT Director and Mr. Kees Tuynman, Head of the Architecture Department, Reaal Insurance (Netherlands), Ms. Carmelita N. Ericta, Administrator, National Statistics Office (Philippines), and Mr. Richard Yien, President, R2K; Other Unisys partners presented “The Microsoft ECM Ecosystem”; “Implementing ECM within Financial Services”; “Contracts Management”; and “Innovative Ways To Store and Retrieve Digital Information Online”.  To close, Paul Barber and Brad Boyd, Unisys, presented an update on our IDM program and the roadmap for InfoImage.

 

Due to the success of this event, the global Integrated Document Management Solutions Program plans to host another worldwide ECM Best Practices seminar at the UIMC on April 24-26, 2006.
